The official HP OpenView Service Desk 5.x blueprint is split into 4 domains, starting with Installation and Configuration (25%), Core Application Functionality (30%), Maintenance and Troubleshooting (20%). The percentages tell you where the exam concentrates its questions, so budget your study time accordingly — the complete outline above lists every domain and subtopic.

The HP OpenView Service Desk 5.x is HP's official exam for the HP Certification III certification, positioned at the Professional / Certification III level. It is the credential hiring managers scan for, and passing it proves your skills meet the vendor's own standard.

Registration goes through the vendor's official channels:

• Prometric (historical)
• Pearson VUE (historical)

Worth knowing before you book: the HP0-003 exam is delivered Delivered via Prometric / Pearson VUE testing centers; retired since ~2013, so pick the delivery option that works best for you.

The official registration fee is $125 USD, and you will need 70% to pass. Here is the part people forget: fail, and the retake costs the same full fee again — there is no discount for a second attempt. Drill with the 75 practice questions from PrepAwayTest until your scores are consistently past the mark, and only then spend that fee.

Yes — a free PDF demo lets you inspect the question quality and format before you pay a cent. Once you purchase, your HP OpenView Service Desk 5.x material comes with 365 days of free updates, and if that update period ever lapses, extending it costs just 50% of the price in your member zone.

The exam contains 75 questions to be finished within 90 minutes. That ratio is tighter than most candidates expect, which is why pacing matters as much as knowledge. Practice skipping and returning to hard questions, set yourself a per-question time budget, and complete at least two full timed mock exams in the PrepAwayTest engine so you feel the clock pressure before it actually counts.

No formal prerequisites; basic knowledge of ITIL processes and Windows server environments recommended Vendor requirements do change from time to time, so confirm the current criteria before scheduling — the official HP0-003 exam page has the final word.
